About All Saints’ Friends of Music

The All Saints’ Friends of Music Committee supports the mission of All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Day School by developing and maintaining music programs and events that glorify God, serve the spiritual needs of the congregation and community, and help to foster an understanding and appreciation for the role of music in the church.

The purpose of this committee is to support our commitment to excellence in music for worship and outreach. There are many volunteer opportunities including helping with the Annual Dinner & Auction, Book Sale, Media Sales, Music Memorials, and various outreach and publicity activities. For more information, contact the maestro directly: Scott Youngs at (602) 279-5539 or syoungs@allsaints.org.

We have three main goals:

(1) To increase audience and community awareness for both Liturgical and musical events
(2) To develop ongoing financial support for the music program at All Saints’
(3) To enlarge our “family” — the people in the All Saints’ community who find joy in their sense of ownership of an outstanding music program

Some samples of music sung by our choir:
God Be in My Head
Thou Shalt Know Him

Music is an integral part of the liturgy and life of All Saints’ Episcopal Church. Under the direction of Scott Youngs, the music program includes a Senior Choir, a professional Chamber Choir, a Handbell choir, a Women’s Chant Choir and a Junior Choir. The music staff also conducts a Chorister program for boys and girls at the Day School. The choirs of All Saints’ present periodic concerts and enrich the worship at Sunday services and special services. Choral Evensong is oftentimes preceded by Organ Recitals performed by amazing talents on All Saints’ gorgeous Visser mechanical action organ, which attracts some of the best instrumentalists to its keys and pedals, including our own Scott Youngs:
